It’s the day after Halloween. I get into my car, turn on the
radio and what do I hear? Some whining girl droning on and on about some guy
she wants for Christmas. This is simply my favorite day of the year. The day
that Christmas seems to punch you in the face and everyone just accepts it.
Then we sit back and allow our stores, houses and televisions to be transformed
into tiny versions of the North Pole. Does
anyone ever realize that Christmas is almost two months away? Two whole months
in which so many things happen including Thanksgiving. Should we just start
preparing for every holiday so many months in advance? Should Halloween costumes
and decorations go on sale the minute schools let out for summer break? Or should
we begin Valentine’s Day candy sales the minute Christmas is over? Of course! Isn’t
it the obvious solution?
