Do you know your neighbor? - Hans Stromberg

I sit next to some small Asian girl in English. I think she has some kind of stereotypical Asian name like Lucy Wan or something. Lucy may have the stereotypical Asian squinty eyes but I think she has let some of America rub off on her. At times her Asian instinct kicks in and cares way to much about school. She was really freaking out about the PSAT in English one day, and I was thinking, "man, what an Asian." I mean who really cares, right? I guess that's what makes her a such a good person, she really does care. Not just about school, but also about other people, I bet she has listened to some very boring golf stories, but she never falls asleep or starts talking about other stuff, she cares enough to listen. (Or she's really good about faking paying attention....) I say a little bit of America has rubbed off on my not so small Asian friend because she does like to procrastinate at times. For example, on the vocabulary quizzes she glances at the words before the quiz, and then I have to grade another perfect or near-perfect score. It takes a very intelligent person to try so little on some things and still do spectacular on them, so she deserves a lot of credit. Thinking back to freshman year, I believe Lucy made cake pops for our biology class which were pretty amazing so I guess she's a pretty awesome cook too.
