#14 Rhoman James

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It is one of the only holidays to this day that has not been commercialized. It has so much meaning in our society to this day. My family moved into a big house in the beginning of freshman year and ever since then we have hosted thanksgiving at our house. We always say that it "starts" at 4, but in black people time that means everyone gets there at 5:30, and we don't eat till 6. We have about 30 to 40 people over, mostly from my moms side, and there's always way to much food. My mom is still putting left over turkey in my lunch. But the best thing about this time is realizing how meaningful the people around you are. There are so many people that are in and out of lives but we the people that I eat thanksgiving with hasn't changed for my whole life. That is what everyone should realize about this day!
