Aaron Dupont #7

Date: October 1st
On this date on October 1st 1931 Spanish Courts accepted general female suffrage. This event was a good event because it now gave women the right to vote in Spain. This was important because all people no matter race, gender, ethnicity, or religion should have equal rights. This occurrence probably had a huge impact on the political landscape of Spain at the time. this event probably set a precedent for other countries around the world to follow for the concept of women's suffrage. This showed the world that women should have equal rights as well. This event also impacted Spain greatly causing for a new birth of political freedom for women. This would've also lead to women gaining more rights based on jobs and property rights in Spain. This event would've probably not had a big impact on one single city. I appreciated this event because it showed that Spain recognized that women had equal rights to men under the law.
