Hooray for Hollywood- Cassie Adams

Tim Burton is one of my favorite film directions. I have seen many if his movies such as Alice in Wonderland, Charlie in the Chocolate Factory, and the Nightmare Before Christmas. But the two I will be focusing in are Edward Scissorhands and the Corpse Bride. As in most of his films, these two movies are simultaneously dark, and gothic-like and humorous. The Corpse Bride is an animated movie about a man named Victor who, while engaged to marry a woman named Victoria, mistakenly marries a corpse. In this movie, he must struggle to discover who he truely loves. The Corpse bride includes various musical numbers and a soundtrack done by Danny Elfman, who works with Burton on many of his movies. While Edward Scissorhands is not animated like the Corse Bride is also dark story that focuses on love. It is about Edward, an abandoned invention of a scientist, who is taken in by a lady in a suburban neighborhood. The story focuses on Edward's adjustment to this society and his love for the lady's teenage daughter. This movies features the actor Johnny Depp, who voiced Victor in the Corpse Bride, and also a score by Danny Elfman.
