Zach Wolfe #14

My Thanksgiving usually involves everyone from my mom's side of the family due to my dad's only living relative being his brother who's usually with his wife's family. Everyone from my mom's side comes. My grandparents, all three of my uncles (her brothers) and their families (that totals 8 cousins), my mom's great aunt Pat with her husband, three kids and their kids. All in all we have about 30 people all stuffed (no pun intended) in my house. It's chaotic beyond belief and I do not wish the noise level upon the ears of my worst enemy. My dad hates it. He doesn't mind the individual people but he loathes too many people at one time. I'm the exact same way. Luckily I can manage it by talking to a few people at a time, however my dad still just sees family Thanksgiving as a loud ball of stress coupled with football. Other than the large number of people, the food is always good. I usually just go with turkey and mashed potatoes because I'm a picky eater and I don't like all the casseroles my family makes. My best Thanksgiving memory was last year when my uncle Brian (my mom's oldest sibling after her) flew in from Arizona and decided he didn't want turkey for Thanksgiving. Instead he decided to make ribs for all of us and they were delicious. My parents have been following his recipe ever since that Thanksgiving because they were so good (the recipe involves using the oven as well as the grill and lathering them with onions while they bake and then three kinds of sauces periodically the whole time).
